After a long time being the Bude forum rep, Jenny has handed over the role to Thomas. Thomas gave Jenny some flowers at the Learning Disability Partnership Board to show our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for all the fantastic work Jenny did whilst she was the forum rep.
Jenny has always been very good at speaking up about fair treatment and equality for people with learning disabilities. She never liked the word ‘disability’ and prefered to call it ‘learning challenges’.
She has spoken up at Learning Disability Partnership Board (LDPB) meetings about the issues that came up in the Bude Forum, and recently wrote a letter to her MP about the difficulties people with learning disabilities face with regard to the ESA form. Jenny has been involved with the safe places training, and she does a lot of volunteering with a local food bank and Pathfields day centre.
Jenny will continue to be a valued and important member of CPF’s Bude forum and will no doubt continue to use her skill, care and experience to help people with learning disabilities.
THANK YOU JENNY!
