‘Voices Together’ is an exciting new Cornwall People First project, which started in January 2015 and is funded for one year.
The aim of our project is to support adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities to speak up about the things that are important to them, and to be involved in decisions about issues that affect them.
We have one Outreach Inclusion Worker for ‘Voices Together’ called Suzanne. She attends Cornwall People First forums, visits day services, supported living facilities, and other places such as health-based organisations.
Suzanne’s role is to encourage people with profound and multiple learning disabilities to be self advocates, and to be represented on Cornwall’s Learning Disability Partnership Board.
The voices of these people can be harder to hear – ‘Voices Together’ works towards changing that.
