Safe Places is a new project to help thousands of people with a learning disability in Cornwall feel safer.

Safe Places is a national initiative that is coming to Kernow thanks to funding from:

Cornwall Council’s Adult Care and Support department

Devon and Cornwall Policy and Diversity Action Groups across the region



and also has the backing of Self Advocacy Group, Cornwall People First.

The scheme which originated from Hertfordshire, aims to help people with learning disabilities deal with any incident that takes place while they are out and about in the community.

Establishments in towns across the county are being invited to join up to the scheme and will be issued with stickers displaying the ‘Safe Places’ logo indicating that their premises are a safe haven.
